Vision & Values
We seek to be a grace-based church that desires that each believer only do what the Father is asking him or her to do, not a
program based church that can leave people feeling pressured to perform. We desire to see people come into greater freedom,
healing, and equipping so that they can more fully come into their full calling and destiny in Christ.
We believe God wants FAT Christians: Faithful, Available, and Teachable (Dr. James McDonald).
He is also calling us to be a TRIM Church, that strongly values and has in its genetic code:
TRUTH
Teaching & obeying the written Word of God, valuing God's "now" prophetic words, and doing practical training and
equipping for increased kingdom ministry effectiveness for all members of His body. (We have begun an equipping school called Wind and Fire Ministry School.)
RELATIONSHIP
a) Vertically with God:
Embracing the Father heart of God, intimacy with Jesus, and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
Of course worship and prayer will be an intricate part of our lifestyle of walking with God individually and corporately.
b) Horizontally with other Believers:
Going deeper in relationships with others in smaller units (house churches)
for support and accountability , meeting together for celebrations in our network of house churches,
and going broader in relational unity and cooperation in the city wide church.
INTERCESSION and MISSION
The church is not called to just focus on its own members but also obey its two-fold mandate from the Lord :
1) The Great Commandment:
a) to love God with all your heart
b) to love our neighbours
Another way to say it is: "Basking in the Father's love and Being about the Father's business"!
2) The Great Commission:
To make disciples of all nations...teaching them to obey... (Mt 28)
Archbishop William Temple once declared: "the church is the only organization in the world that exists for the benefit of its non-members".
A number of churches have renamed (not literally) "The Great Commission" "The Great Omission" and, are basically existing to serve themselves, just in maintenance
mode. We have been guilty of this ourselves, but our desire is to have a greater emphasis on who we are in Christ and the MISSION He has called us to, that of
preaching the good news of the Kingdom, healing the sick, setting the captives free of demonic bondage and addiction, and ministering to the poor.
In general, in our day, the Lord is wanting to establish "missional churches", that is, apostolic churches that have a strong outward focus. God is transitioning his
church from a mindset that says to the world: "come, come , come to our church" to also having the church "Go, Go, Go into all the world". It's time to
intentionally build more bridges and make connections with the culture (both individually as believers with our neighbours and work colleagues as well
as collectively through various outreach ministries and projects, both locally and globally) in the power of the Holy Spirit. And with the very real possibility
of God unleashing an unprecedented revival upon us in the very near future, there's even more reason to be found ready, alert, and expectant, eagerly seeking first
the Kingdom of God and partnering with Him in the coming harvest. What exciting days to be alive and participating with Him in this adventure.
